Siemens VAI liefert Bandbeizanlage an Zaporizhstal
Siemens VAI Metals Technologies GmbH & Co wurde vom ukrainischen
Geschäftspartner Zaporizhstal mit der Errichtung einer Beizanlage
auf Säurebasis inkl. einer Säureregenerationsanlage im Wert
von ca. 43 Mio. EUR beauftragt. Die neue Anlage soll drei bestehende
Beizanlagen ersetzen und eine Kapazität von ca. 1,35 Mio. Jahrestonnen
gebeiztes Stahlband erreichen. Der Standort in der Ukraine genießt
aufgrund niedriger Material-, Energie- und Personalkosten Vorteile im
Vergleich zu internationalen Gegebenheiten. Sowohl der Bedarf an Koks
als auch an Eisenerz kann lokal befriedigt werden. Ebenso ist die Versorgung
mit elektrischer Energie im Großraum Zaporozhje als unproblematisch
einzustufen. Zaporizhstal überlegt weitere Investitionen (2,3 Mrd.
EUR bis 2015), die die Modernisierung /den Ersatz von veralterten Anlagen
vorsehen. Dadurch sollen eine Erweiterung der Produktpalette, eine Verbesserung
der Qualität und schlussendlich auch der Ausbau der Kundenstruktur
(z.B. Automobilindustrie) erzielt werden. Das geplante Investitionsprogramm
(insbesondere Modernisierung der Sinteranlagen, laufende Effizienzverbesserungen
der Hochöfen sowie Austausch der Siemens Martin-Öfen gegen
Konverter) soll außerdem wesentlich zur Verbesserung der Umweltauswirkungen
des Stahlwerkes beitragen. Die von Siemens VAI nunmehr gelieferte Anlage
entspricht international üblichen Standards und wird die Emissions-
und Abwasserbelastung stark verbessern, weil sie drei veraltete Anlagen
ersetzt.

Siemens VAI liefert Konverter an Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works
Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works, Ukraine hat Siemens VAI Metals Technologies
GmbH & Co beauftragt, zwei 300-t-Konverter inkl. Entstaubungsanlagen,
zwei Entschwefelungsanlagen sowie Elektrik und Automatisation zu liefern.
Vom Gesamtauftragswert wurde eine Teilfinanzierung mit OeKB-Besicherung
in Höhe von 30 Mio. EUR realisiert. Durch das Projekt soll veralterte
Prozesstechnologie inkl. Siemens Martin-Öfen erneuert und auf den
derzeit industrieüblichen Stand der Technik gebracht werden. Hinsichtlich
der beim Betrieb von Stahlkonvertern auftretenden staubbelasteten Abgase
werden eine primäre und eine sekundäre Rauchgasreinigung auf
Basis von elektrostatischen Filtern/Gewebefiltern implementiert, um
dadurch die im Liefervertrag vereinbarten Weltbankstandards einzuhalten.
Mit dem Anfall von Abwasser ist beim Betrieb von Stahlkonvertern nicht
zu rechnen. Im Rahmen eines umfangreichen Modernisierungs- und Erweiterungsprogramms
bei den zur Gruppe gehörenden Stahlwerken sind bis zum Jahr 2010
weitere Investitionen (Erhöhung der Flüssigstahlkapazität,
Verbesserung der Produktionsqualitäten und der Umweltsituation,
Errichtung eines Kraftwerkes) geplant. Unter anderem haben IFC und EBRD
Finanzierungen für diese Investitionen genehmigt.

ISTIL (Ukraine) stockholders allocated profit for 2006 to develop
production facilities
ISTIL Mini Steel Mill in Donetsk will not pay dividends for 2006 and
allocate its net profit of UAH 11.5 million to reequip and develop production
facilities, launch new technologies and replenish circulating funds.
The company said that the decision was made at a meeting of the stockholders
held on April 20. As reported, the ISTIL (Ukraine) mini steel plant
saw its operating profit fall by 32.6% to UAH 47.5 million in 2006 amid
rising costs. Sales totaled UAH 1.697 billion last year.
Moreover, the stockholders determined the main directions of the company's
activities in 2007. The Mill plans the construction of the state-of-the-art
central testing laboratory, further modernization of the Scrap Shop,
extension of the local railway network and implementation of the second
level of automation. It will ensure the major processes technical data
entry into the accounting system on a real-time basis. Mini steel mill
ISTIL is one of the most advanced steel mills in Ukraine and partner
of Metal-Forum of Ukraine.

Dnipropetrovsk Vtormet not to pay dividends for 2006
Stockholders in OJSC Dnipropetrovsk Vtormet at a general meeting held
on April 20 decided not to pay dividends for 2006 and allocate the company's
net profit of around UAH 19 million received in 2006 to the company's
reserve fund, pay debts for the previous years and the development of
the enterprise. "The funds are needed to buy equipments in the
light of the plans to triple production volume in the nearest 1.5 years
to finance the Interpipe Steel electric furnace steelmaking complex,
which is under construction at the Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Plant with
the annual production capacity of 1.32 million tonnes of section".

Alchevsk Steel Mill to increase statutory fund by 2.4 times
OJSC Alchevsk steel mill in Luhansk region, part of the Industrial Union
of Donbas (IUD), will increase its statutory fund by UAH 1.5 billion,
or by 139.2%, to UAH 2.578 billion through an additional issue of stocks
with a face value of 10 kopecks each. This decision was made at a general
meeting of stockholders held on Tuesday. The increase in the statutory
fund of the mill is aimed at attracting of financial resources for the
renovation of the mill. The placement of the stocks was scheduled for
June 25 through July 24.

Interpipe NTK aims to boost pipe output 60% in 2007
Interpipe Nikopol Pipe Company plans to increase production by 59.6%
this year, to 212,017 tonnes of steel pipes, the company said, citing
plans approved by shareholders on April 12. Shareholders at the annual
general meeting also approved the company's report for 2006 and financial
targets for this year. Interpipe NTK's net profit surged 700% to UAH
55.6 million in 2006. Interpipe NTK, created in 2003 with the restructuring
of the Nikopol Pivdennotrubny Pipe Works (NPTZ), makes seamless pipes
with diameters of 146 to 325 mm for the oil and gas industry and engineering
sector, as well as general purpose pipes.

Interpipe Niko Tube aims for 22% production growth in 2007
Interpipe Niko Tube, a producer of seamless pipes that is part of the
Interpipe group, plans to increase production of steel pipes by 22.2%
this year, to 288,000 tonnes, the company said, citing targets shareholders
approved at their annual general meeting on April 12. The company had
a net profit of UAH 39.1 million in 2006. Shareholders also approved
other financial and business targets for 2007, including a planned increase
in the proportion of export products in overall output.

Makiyivcoke to modernize coke battery
Makiyivcoke, a company formed with the assets of the Makiyivka Coke
Plant, is modernizing its No. 2 coke battery with capacity to produce
370,000 tonnes of coke per year. The project will cost UAH 101 million
and is tentatively scheduled for completion in November 2007. The project
will enable the plant to make better quality coke for the new blast
furnace at the Donetskstal Steel Mill, which uses coal injection technology.
More than UAH 23 million was spent on upgrades last year.

Interpipe Novomoskovsky Pipe Plant to allocate UAH 88 million to
pay dividends
OJSC Interpipe Novomoskovsky Pipe Plant (Interpipe NPP) will allocate
UAH 87.874 million, taking into account non-distributed profit for previous
years and profit in 2006, to pay dividends. This decision was made at
an annual meeting of the stockholders on April 6.

Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant to pay UAH 373.5 million in dividends for
last year
OJSC Khartsyzsk pipe plant in Donetsk region will pay UAH 373.5 million
from its UAH 383.2 million net profit as dividends for 2006. The plant's
stockholders passed such a decision on Tuesday. The remaining profit,
UAH 19.7 million, will be channeled into the company's reserve fund.

Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant boosts output 56% in Q1
Khartsyzsk Pipe Mill increased production of large-diameter pipes with
anti-corrosive by 55.5% year-on-year in January-March 2007 to 175,900
tonnes, including 61,800 tonnes in March. Large-diameter pipe production
at Khartsyzsk roe 9.2% in 2006 to 595,700 tonnes. The mill has orders
for more than 700,000 tonnes in 2007.

Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NZF), Ukraine's biggest ferroalloy producer, raised ferroalloy production 17.3% year-on-year in January-March to 263,400 tonnes, including 75,800 tonnes in March. The company produced 204,000 tonnes of silicon manganese in January-March, against 164,800 tonnes in the first three months of last year, and 59,400 tonnes of ferromanganese (56,900 tonnes).
The works raised ferroalloy output 10.2% to 892,900 tonnes in 2006.

Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Works ups production 8.2% in Q1
Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Works (ZZF) raised production tentatively 8.2%
year-on-year in January-March to 137,100 tonnes of ferroalloys, including
43,600 tonnes in March. Production rose 1.2% year-on-year in the three
months to 91,600 tonnes of silicon manganese and 59.1% to 21,000 tonnes
of ferrosilicon, but fell 9.9% to 20,100 tonnes of ferromanganese.

Global Steel Investments Limited boosts its share in Zaporizhstal
to 44.75%
Global Steel Investments Limited (Manchester, UK) has increased its
stake in OJSC Zaporizhstal by 32.416,896 shares or by 3.84%, to 377.560,881
shares or 44.75%. On March 22, 2007, Zaporizhstal reported an increase
of Global Steel's stake in the company by 7.23% to 40.91%. Zaporizhstal
Integrated Iron & Steel Works JSC is one of the largest industrial
enterprises of Ukraine and the partner of Metal-Forum of Ukraine.

Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Plant pays dividends
Dnipropetrovsk-based OSJC Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Plant will
allocate all of its net profit for 2006 and the non-distributed profit
for the previous year to pay dividends. According to a decision of the
stockholders taken at a meeting held on March 30, the company would
allocate UAH 580.9 million to pay dividends. Dividends per share will
be UAH 10.78. The share price on the stock market last year almost doubled,
and the capitalization of the company as of late 2006 was UAH 4.9 billion.

SPF sells last stake of Novotroitske Mine Group
Ukraine's State Property Fund on March 30 sold the last state-owned
stake in OJSC Novotroitske Mine Group (Donetsk region). The 1.173% stake
was sold for UAH 344,250. OJSC Novotroitske Mine Group extracts and
processes metallurgical limestone and dolomite. About 99% of the company's
shares are controlled by CJSC System Capital Management.
